BASEBALL: Jaret Godman’s three-run double rallies Palo Verde past Arbor View

Palo Verde’s Jaret Godman hit a three-run double with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning Thursday to lead the Panthers’ baseball team over Arbor View at home, 5-3.

Palo Verde trailed 3-2 entering the sixth, but Johnny Condron reached on an error with one out to start the rally. Ahser Bouldin singled, and Scott Cosby was hit by a pitch to load the bases.

After an infield fly, Godman lined a double to right field to clear the bases and give the Panthers the lead.

Chandler Kochan went 2-for-4 with an RBI and also pitched a scoreless seventh with two strikeouts to earn the save for Palo Verde.

Dylan Anderson was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI to pace Arbor View.

Centennial 6, Legacy 4 — At Centennial, Austin Kryszczuk hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh to give the Bulldogs the win over the Longhorns.

Kyle Horton reached on an infield single to start the inning, and Kryszczuk homered to center field on a 3-1 pitch to end the game.

Kryszczuk was 3-for-3 with two runs and three RBIs for the Bulldogs. Horton went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run.

Willie Valdez-Grijalva had a triple and two RBIs for Legacy.

Tech 15, Desert Pines 14 — At Desert Pines, Jose Leon went 3-for-5 and drove in four runs to lead the Roadrunners past the Jaguars.

Leon’s single in the top of the seventh broke a 13-13 tie, and the Roadrunners added another run on an error.

The Jaguars scored in the bottom of the seventh to cut the lead and had the tying run at second with two outs. However, Gabe Kermode struck out Steven Laureano to end the game.

Kermode struck out four over 2 ⅓ innings to earn the win.

Jason Collingbourne tripled for the Roadrunners. Sean Jones went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, Jayce Otis was 3-for-4, and Trevor Kephart was 2-for-5 with two RBIs.

Jorge Milian and Raymond Minero each doubled and tripled for the Jaguars.

Coronado 9, Rancho 8 — At Rancho, the Cougars went to extra innings with the Rams before scoring three runs in the eighth to clinch the win.

Jake McLean drove in three runs for Coronado and went 4-for-5 with two doubles and a triple to lead the offense. Kyle Hall drove in four more for the Cougars and went 2-for-4.

Miguel Elicerio drove in three for Rancho and went 2-for-4 with a double. The Rams scored two in the bottom half of the eighth, but could not complete the comeback.

Foothill 3, Silverado 0 — At Foothill, Kelton Lachelt tossed a three-hit shutout to power the Falcons over the Skyhawks.

Foothill’s Anthony Panullo went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs. His double was the only extra-base hit of the game.

Andrew Hauck knocked in two runs for the Falcons.

Valley 6, Eldorado 4 — At Eldorado, David Trotta went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs as the Vikings held off the Sundevils.

Leeland Crawford scored twice for Valley, which led 6-0 after four innings.

Bryce Cowin allowed one hit in four shutout innings to get the win.

Kyle Rizzuti went 2-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI for Eldorado.

Green Valley 3, Las Vegas 1 — At Green Valley, Frankie Fitzgerald fired a three-hitter as the Gators topped the Wildcats.

Fitzgerald struck out eight and walked two. He settled in after walking in a run in the top of the first, allowing just one hit over the final six innings.

Green Valley took the lead with two runs in the third inning. Brandon Bayne led off with a double and scored on an infield single by A.J. Amelburu. Garett Nelson scored the go-ahead run on an error.

Nelson was 2-for-3 with two runs for the Gators.

Cimarron-Memorial 13, Shadow Ridge 7 — At Cimarron, the Spartans scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth to pull away from the Mustangs.

Derek Decolati was 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and two RBIs, and Noah Parker went 3-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI for Cimarron.

Trevor Doyle was 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, and teammate Jack Kannon went 2-for-2 with a run for the Spartans.

Justin Lee was 3-for-3 with a run to pace Shadow Ridge, which scored two runs in the top of the seventh for the final margin.

Noah Soltero was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and two RBIs for the Mustangs.

Basic 9, Canyon Springs 1 — At Basic, Jack Wold and Erik Cruz each smacked a two-run home run as part of a five-run third inning, as the Wolves rallied past the Pioneers.

Wold and Cruz each finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and teammate Roger Riley supplied two hits and two runs for Basic.

Giovani Benuto had a solo homer for the lone run for Canyon Springs.

Northridge (Colo.) 13, Durango 6 — At Durango, Duke Pahukoa went 4-for-4 with a double, a home run and four RBIs as the Trailblazers fell to the Grizzlies.

Lake Mead 17, Adelson School 2 — At Heritage Park, Mark Costolo fired a one-hitter with six strikeouts as the Eagles topped the Lions in four innings.

Jared Regan was 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI for Lake Mead. Josh Thorell and Zack Brocker each went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Eagles.

Indian Springs 13, GV Christian 0 — At Indian Springs, Nino Alvarez threw three hitless innings, and the Thunderbirds rolled to the five-inning win.

Phillip Raimer was 2-for-3 with four RBIs, and Devon Sickler was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Indian Springs.

Alvarez and Wrench Perry each added two hits and two runs for the Thunderbirds.
